Environment experts and policymakers have stressed on the need for using technology and reducing waste at household-level in order to manage it effectively. While Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog, felt that the political leadership of municipalities should be held accountable for the menace, National Green Tribunal chairperson Justice A K Goel stressed on better monitoring, increased awareness and use of technology to scientifically manage the problem.
