AN-32 fleet of IAF gets nod to use bio-jet fuel
New Delhi: The IAF’s formidable workhorse, the Russian made AN-32 transport aircraft on Friday was formally fleet certified to fly on blended aviation fuel containing up to 10% of indigenous bio-jet fuel. The approval certificate was received at the aero-engine test facilities at Chandigarh. The IAF has undertaken a series of evaluation tests and trials with this green aviation fuel for the last one year. The scope of these checks was in consonance with the international aviation standards, according to IAF spokesman.
Sahara Naval Hostel inaugurated
New Delhi: Lt Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal on Friday inaugurated the Sahara Naval Hostel for the ‘Veer Naris’ at Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and his wife Reena Lanba, President Naval Wives Welfare Association were also present in addition to several senior naval and civilian officials.
Sukhoi combat jet fired successfully
New Delhi: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Friday successfully test fired an indigenously-developed 500 kg class guided bomb from a Sukhoi combat jet at Pokhran in Rajasthan.
The defence ministry said the guided bomb achieved the desired range and hit the target with high precision.
