A 30-year-old woman shot at allegedly by two unidentified bike-borne assailants near five-star hotel in Dwarka Sector 12 on Thursday morning is battling for her life at a private hospital in South West Delhi.
“After receiving a police control room (PCR) call on Thursday at 8.15 am, a police team rushed to the spot. The victim identified as Kiren Yadav, a resident of Dwarka’s Sector 12 area, was rushed to Venkateshwara hospital where her condition is said to be critical,” said a police official.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that Kiren was driving her car when two bike-borne men who were chasing her vehicle opened fire at her at a roundabout near Radisson Blu hotel. Kiren was alone in the car. She sustained bullet injury on her neck. Two bullets were fired upon her,” said the police official.
Officials at the hospital said, “Team of doctors has removed the bullet but her condition is still critical and she has been kept on ventilator.”
“It has been revealed that she was involved in a family dispute. It appears that the bike-borne assailants knew about her movement and were tailing her,” said police.
“Police teams are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. A few suspects have been detained in connection with the incident,” said the senior police official adding that further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, Kiran’s family members suspect the involvement of her husband Varun Yadav. “The couple has matrimonial issues for the last one and a half year. We suspect her husband to be behind the act. He had been ill treating my sister,” said Pankaj Saxena, victim’s brother, adding Kiren had to take care of her expenses and had to start a small finance business.
