Two policemen were shot on Wednesday in Sambhal district as some unidentified miscreants opened fire at a jail van and fled with three undertrial prisoners. Sambhal Superintendent of Police Yamuna Prasad said two constables, escorting 24 undertrial prisoners to Moradabad after after a hearing in a Chandausi court, were killed in the audacious attack on the police team.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the death of the two police personnel. He announced a compensation of Rs 50 lakh each to the next of kin, a Government job to each dependent.
