Herbs to look out for

Arjuna: Arjuna is a heart tonic that keeps the cardiac muscles strong and aids in strong contractions of the heart as well as good blood flow through the arteries. Arjuna is also effective in keeping your blood cholesterol level in control. Research has shown that taking Arjuna can help in reducing chest pain.

Hritpatri (Foxgloves): Hritpatri works great in regulating cardiac muscles and is prescribed for Arrhythmia and irregular heartbeats. However, it must be noted that the herb must be used strictly under a doctor’s supervision.

Haldi (Turmeric): Turmeric is great for lowering cholesterol and keeping your heart healthy. Research has found that the active agent in Turmeric — Curcumin is effective in preventing blood clot formation, enlargement of the cardiac chambers and cardiac arrest.

Methi (Fenugreek): In addition to being effective in managing cholesterol, fenugreek works in preventing hardening of arteries and triglyceride deposit in the arteries. Regular use of fenugreek in diet helps in absorbing triglycerides from the food.

Gudhal (Hibiscus): Hibiscus protects the heart by managing your blood pressure at normal levels. Also, the petals of this flower is a natural diuretic which also have blood pressure lowering effect.
