Any movie that is about animals is bound to be sweet and cute. Born Free, Babe, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Free Willy, Eight Below and Cats & Dogs are only a half a dozen films that were not only brilliantly made but stole our hearts as well.
A Dog’s Journey adds to the list of movies that will melt the heart of even those who don’t like pets. The adage that a dog is man’s best friend is truly apt in this tear-jerker that has so many ‘awww’ moments. Add to the list that the dogs themselves are cute even if some of the them are big, this one is on a winning streak. More so if you love dogs.
The film is based on a 2012 novel by W Bruce Cameron and published by Forge Books is the sequel to Cameron’s 2010 book A Dog’s Purpose. A film by the same title released in 2017 in which a feral puppy named Toby is back in 1950 and find’s life purpose.
However, it is not necessary to have seen the prequel to enjoy this one, a back story is always good to know about since this ‘journey’ takes you through love that we share with our canine friend.
The movie is simply told that moves is a somewhat lazy fashion even though it is a tear-jerker all the way through so don’t forget to carry a box of tissue paper with you.
This film deals with human’s rawest emotions — a bond that we share with our dog that lasts a lifetime — and makes for a must watch if you have a furry friend at home.
