‘Abandoned old parents can move court’

The Chhatia Old Age Home held its first foundation day on Thursday here where activist Er Debashisha Hota presided.  Lawyer Satyapriya Saran attended as chief guest.

Saran elaborated on how abandoned parents could file cases against their children for maintenance under section 125 of the CrPC. Kamakhya Prasad Hota and Dhaneswar Rout attended as guests of honour.

Bhajan, Kirtan, Nagar Parikrama and Sahabhoj were organised. Chakradhar Sandha, Dandadhar Dehury, Chhayakant Padhan, Susant Dehury and Barun Nayak, among others, organised.

The old age home also held the first death anniversary of Jyotsnamayee Hota , the former headmistress of the village school. She is mother of Er Hota.
