The Gantantra Surakshya Abhiyan (GSA) organised a meeting on ‘Trends of Fascism in India and How to counter it’ here on Saturday.
Addressing the meeting held at the Nagabhushan Bhawan, former MLA and CPI leader Narayan Reddy said that the BJP Government at the Centre has adopted policies of anti-democratic, communal and anti-socialism to make India a religion-based fundamentalist country.
Stating that the Government is taking the people of the country on the path of capitalism, Reddy said that the Government’s interference has hampered the functioning and management of the institutions like Election Commission, Defence, CBI, RBI, CAG, CVC, UGC, ICSSAR, ICHR and RTI.
Reddy also said that abolishing of the Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir has created a threat to the federal system of the country.
Kailash Mishra said that the change in economic policies of the country has not brought any improvement in income and employment sectors rather unemployment has taken alarming proportions.
Reddy also urged the people of Odisha to join the Gantantra Surakshya Abhiyan to save the democracy and Constitution of the country. Members of different political parties like Ashok Nanda, Manas Jena, Ajay Rout, Nalini Pati, Sachikanta Pani, Basnsidhar Dash, Judhistir Mahapatra, Manoj Jena and Hussain Rabi Gandhi spoke on the occasion.
