Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik on Wednesday alleged that old-age pensions were distributed in the election-bound Patkura Assembly constituency during the Chief Minster’s and other Ministers’ visits despite election code of conduct.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Naik sought a clarification from the Government as to why old-age pensions distributed at community level when election code of conduct is enforceable. He said there is no problem for officers to distribute the assistance to beneficiaries at doorsteps during such a period.
Naik too expressed concern that almost all Ministers were absent in the House when important issues relating to the entire State’s interest are being discussed. He decried that authorised Ministers gave replies to members’ important questions during the Question Hour.
