Following the Thursday’s car accident on expressway, caused by a crater developed on the road following heavy downpour in Raipur, the ruling Congress on Friday showered allegations of corruption on the BJP, during whose rule the expressway was constructed.
“The craters on expressway are glaring example of how quality was compromised in construction work and rampant corruption which happened during the past 15-years of BJP regime in Chhattisgarh,” Chairman state Congress communication cell Shailsh Nitin Trivedi said.
Taking a dig at former BJP legislator Shrichand Sundarani’s haste attempt a few days ago to inaugurate the expressway, Trivedi said he (Sundarani) should now tell who is responsible for the mishap?
Congress claimed that the BJP should bear the responsibility for accidents happening on expressway.
He claimed that Sundarani’s attempt to inaugurate the expressway was actually an attempt to start the expressway so that bills of the errant contractors could be cleared.
Trivedi recalling the incident of collapsing of under-construction roof of new circuit house in Raipur and falling of a slab of one of the bridges of expressway, claimed that the Rs 312 crore expressway was a source of big financial embezzlement happened during the BJP rule.
