The BJP on Thursday demanded that the State Government bring a Bill on 10-per cent reservation for General class poor, get it passed on the first day of the coming Assembly session and immediately implement the same.
Terming the 10 per-cent Reservation Bill for poor people belonging to General category, which was passed in both the Houses of the Parliament, as historic, BJP State Secretary and SC Morcha pravari Dillip Mallick said the Bill would benefit those people who had been deprived of Government support for the last 70 years. BJP State Minority Cell vice president Prof Abdul Salam said poor people belonging to the Muslim community would also be benefitted. “If the State Government doesn’t implement the Bill, it will be termed as anti-Minority,” said Salam in a statement.
