‘Let ‘Utkal Janani’ file move at rocket speed’

Wednesday, 21 August 2019 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The Utkal Sammilani on Tuesday greeted new Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and appreciated his assurance that all Government works would move at “rocket speed” for development of the State.

In the wake of his assurance, Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate Branch president Dillip Dashsharma hoped that Tripathy would move the file, which is lying in the Home Department with a proposal to give State anthem status to ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ song since 2013, at a rocket speed.

Dashsharma informed that while the Sammilani has been demanding State anthem status to the ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ song since 1994, discussions were held on the demand at Government level in 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2012  after which the Culture Department sent a file numbering 125 to the Home Department on January 22, 2013. But no action has been taken yet.

“If all files move at a high speed, it is expected that the ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ will get State anthem status soon,” hoped Dashsharma.
