‘Resons of suicide by 30-yr-old woman unclear’

Reason of suicide by 30-year-old married woman who ended her life by hanging with the ceiling at Old Subhash Nagar area in the morning on Thursday remains unclear till late night; Aishbagh police are investigating suicide incident.

Investigating Officer Ravi Barkade said that the reason behind the suicide of Aparna Gupta remains unknown as the family members are yet to record their statements.  The parents of the deceased were outside the town for attending a marriage and returned after receiving information of suicide, he added. The couple had a one and a half year old baby from the marriage.

The body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigations and post mortem was conducted on Friday after the family members of the deceased returned.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man died on Thursday after he was hit by a speeding bike near Umaria village under Nazeerabad police station area on May 21. Police claimed that the man was hit while he was trying to cross the road on May 21 and was rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

According to the police, the man identified as Munnlal Das was hit by a speeding bike and escaped from the spot. On the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started further investigation.

In the initial investigation it was found that the deceased was a resident of Vidisha and came to meet his relative in Nepania Jaat area and when he was trying to cross the road he met accident.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.

Police said that the motorbike rider would be searched. The registration number of the bike was not noticed by the locals. A case under section 304 A of the IPC would be registered later in the investigation.
