‘Sarural Simar Ka’ famed child artiste Shivlekh killed in road accident

Child artiste Shivlekh Singh, who acted in ‘Sarural Simar Ka’ TV show along with others, was killed while his parents and another person were injured after their car collided with a truck in Dharsiwa on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The accident took place around 3 pm under Dharsiwa police station area on the outskirts of the capital, Additional Superintendent of Police Prafull Thakur said.

The 14-year-old child artiste’s mother Lekhna Singh and father Shivendra Singh and another person Naveen Singh were injured in the incident, he added.

As per preliminary information, the victims were coming towards Raipur from Bilaspur in their car, when their vehicle hit the rear part of a truck which was coming from opposite direction in Dharsiwa area, he said, adding Shivlekh died on the spot. 

The three injured were admitted to a private hospital here, he added.

A case has been registered in this connection, the ASP said adding that efforts were on to trace the truck driver who escaped from the spot, leaving behind his vehicle.

Shivlekh was coming to Raipur for media interviews on Thursday, a family friend Dhirendra Kumar Sharma said.

According to Sharma he had arranged the child artiste’s interview with some newspapers and news channels in Raipur.

Shivlekh, a native of Janjgir-Champa district in Chhattisgarh, was staying in Mumbai along with his family from last 10 years and had acted in TV serials ‘Sankatmochan Hanuman’ and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, Sharma said.

Of the injured, his mother was said to be in critical condition as she had sustained grievous head injuries, he added.
