‘Start Panchakarma, Shirodhara in dist hospitals’

Keeping in view the day by day increasing demand of Panchakarma and Shirodhara being done in Pt Khushilal Sharma Shaskiya Ayurved Mahavidyalaya evam Sansthan, the Minister for Medical Education and Ayush Vijaylaxmi Sadho has told to start Panchakarma and Shirodhara in district hospitals too.

A total of 73,223 patients have received benefit of this treatment being done in the institute till now in the current year.

There is a long waiting list of patients for the next two months. Minister Sadho said this during a General Council’s meeting of Pt Khushilal Sharma ShaskiyaAyurved Mahavidyalaya evam Sansthan here today.

Sadho mentioned that keeping in view the deep interest of people in Panchakarma and Shirodhara being done in the institute; medical tourism should be developed in the State.

She said that panchakarma and shirodhara is being done once at a huge cost in big hotels by the untrained people, whereas this is being done at bare minimum amount in Pt Khushilal Sansthan.

Panchakarma is being done here with scientific method by the trained para-medical staff.

Registration is free for people living below the poverty line, she added.

Sadho gave instructions that a proposal should be sent to the Union Government for enhancing the seats in the institute from 60 to 100 in the academic year 2021.

It was informed in the meeting that 90 percent beds are always occupied by the patients in the hospital of the institute.  This also includes patients coming from neighboring states. Besides, it was informed in the meeting that the construction of 216 seat building of the under construction 272 seater girls hostel is in the final stage. Sadho gave instruction for its speedy completion.

An amount of Rs 3.57 crore has been received for 50 bed Super Specialty Panchakarma Clinic in the institute.

She also gave instructions to send a proposal pertaining to boys hostel.

The Additional Chief Secretary Ayush Shikha Dubey, Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Jha, Principal and Chief Executive Officer Dr Umesh Shukla were present at the meeting.
