A 33-year-old man died while another escaped with injuries after their motorbike was hit by a speeding truck near Board Office Square under MP Nagar police station area on Saturday.
According to the police, two injured man who were severely injured after their motorbike was hit by a speeding truck were rushed to hospital where one of them was declared dead while one escaped with injuries.
The deceased was identified as Laxmichand alias Sonu Ahirwar while injured was identified as Mahendra. Deceased used to work at Halalpur bus stand while injured man is an auto rickshaw driver.
Police said that the accident took place when Mahendra tried to overtake the truck but failed and Sonu who sitting pillion fell and hit by truck.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation to search the errant truck driver who escaped with the truck. The truck driver escaped the spot leaving the truck.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy died after his bicycle was hit by a speeding truck near Putlighar area under Teelajamalpura police station in the morning on Sunday.
According to the police a boy was injured after his bicycle was hit by a speeding truck and rushed to hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Muzammil alias Juned of Qazi Camp, case filed.
