nBased on a tip-off, the Deoghar police of cyber crime cell on Thursday evening busted a cyber criminal gang and arrested ten of its members at different locations of Raghunathpur area under Khaga police station. Police also seized 35 mobile phones, five Sim cards, six ATM cards, six passbooks, one laptop, one scorpio jeep and cash Rs  95,000 from the accused, said Cyber Dy SP Neha Bala.

The accused have been identified as Alam Ansari, son of Saffiq Mia, Shamim Ansari, Imran Ansari, son of Hasriuddin Ansari, Esmyal Ansari, son of Harun Mia, Mikhiyal Ansari, son of Harun Mia, Manwar Ansari, son of Akhatkum Mia, Ansur Ansari, son of Rashid Mia, Maqsud Ansari, son of Anwar Ansari, Safid Ansari, son of Taslim Mia, and Aslam Ansari, son of Nizamudin Ansari. They all belong to different locations of Raghunathpur areas in Deoghar, added Cyber Dy SP.

According to the police, on receipt of specific information from the Cyber cell that some cyber criminals, who have gathered at their village and having some plan to cheat innocent people, a raid was conducted under the leadership of Cyber Cell Dy SP, Neha Bala , and other officials including Suresh Kumar Rawani, Sikandar Prasad, Milan Kumar,Vijay Mandal, Heera Lal Verma, Suresh Marandi and others on Thursday and were picked up, said Cyber Dy SP.

Disclosing the modus operandi of the accused, SP N.K.Singh said that the accused used to call the debit and credit card holders on the pretext of solving various technical problems related to the cards or telling them that their cards could be blocked if they did not share their details. They have already transferred several lakhs of rupees from different accounts of different people of Jharkhand and other States, the SP further added. A case has been registered with Khaga police station under  different sections of IPC of IT Act.
