A 42-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by two bike-borne criminals in North-East Delhi's Karawal Nagar area on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Kishor (42), a resident of Shiv Vihar area in Karawal Nagar, and used to work as a financer.

According to a senior police official, a police control room (PCR) call was received at about 8:00 pm on Thursday night in Karawal Nagar police station regarding firing incident.

"A police team rushed to the spot where Kishor was found in injured condition. He was taken to the local hospital by the police team where after examination of the victim, doctors declared him brought dead," said the senior police official.

"The body has been sent for postmortem and a case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Arms Act has been registered at Karawal Nagar police station. A probe has been initiated," said a police official.

"Kishor sustained two bullet injuries, said police. It is suspected that the motive behind the killing is personal enmity and prima facie it appears that the accused is known to the victim and is absconding," said the police official.

"The alleged accused had previous criminal records. Police teams have been formed and he will be arrested soon," the police official added.
