Two-day National Seminar on ‘Gender Mainstreaming in Water Resources Management in India’ was inaugurated here on Friday. This Seminar organised by Centre for Resources Development Studies, Bhopal in association with Environment Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO), Bhopal and Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal.
During the inauguration, Neeta Singh, President of CRDS, Bhopal welcomed the Chief Guest SP Rayal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Working Plan), MP Forest Deptt. Bhopal; KG Vyas, Former Advisor, Rajiv Gandhi Water Shed Mission and Director WALMI; Ramesh Dave, Retd PCCF, MP Forest Deptt, Bhopal; Manoj Kumar Sharma, Scientist-in-Charge, Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal, Delegates, participants and other.
During the first session, KG Vyas, Former Advisor, Rajiv Gandhi Water Shed Mission and Director WALMI, Bhopal detailed about the need of Management of Water Resources. After this, museum visit was organized for the delegates of seminar. Participants also visited the permanent gallery, temporary galleries, discovery centre, traditional conservation, wetland conservation, mini-court yard etc. during the museum visit.
During the Plenary Session, Mamta Ekks from Hamidia College, Bhopal detailed about the Water Conservation Awareness. Similarly Subrata Pani from EPCO, Bhopal and Sudhinder Mohan Sharma from Central Ground Water Board, Indore detailed about the Provision, Management and Safeguarding Water.
