The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh got a shot in its arm with two senior leaders of Samajwadi Party, including a former MLA, joining the ruling party, reposing full faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah.
Former MLA of SP from Mohan in Unnao district, Radhey Lal Rawat, and chairperson of Azamgarh Nagar Palika Parishad Shila Srivastava joined the BJP in the presence of party’s state president Swatantra Dev Singh here on Monday.
“The BJP will strengthen from the vast experience of these two leaders. They have presence at the grassroots level and know the problems of the people. Today they joined BJP with their supporters because they know that only the BJP can take the country and the state to the path of progress,” Singh said.
Radhey Lal Rawat said that BJP was the only party which talked about the welfare of the people.
“The policies of Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath governments are people-oriented. These policies have started bearing fruits,” he said.
