In 13 districts of Haryana, 26 lakh children in 0 to 5 years age group will be given polio-resistant drops on June 16 under National Pulse Polio campaign. These districts are Ambala, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Sonepat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Faridabad, Mewat and Palwal.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Health Department Rajiv Arora on Wednesday held a meeting of officers of the State Task Force of the Pulse Polio Campaign in Panchkula.
He said that on June 16, polio booths would be established in urban and rural areas of all the 13 districts for giving polio drops to children, whereas on June 17 and June 18, polio drops would be given to the deprived children by visiting every house.
Arora directed the officers to work with team spirit and make sure that no child is bereft of polio drops dose.
He said that in the campaign, the support of Health, Women and Child Development, Labour, Food and Supplies, Urban Local Bodies, Development and Panchayat and Education Departments, is very important.
The representatives of people, Non Government Organisations, religious institutions should also be involved for the success of the campaign. There is a need for special focus of immunization at construction sites, brick kilns, stone crushers, slums, as in such places there are large number children of migrants and labourer, he added.
Mission Director, National Health Mission, Amneet P. Kumar said that all the officers must effectively implement this campaign by establishing better coordination with district administration.
