26th battalion of CRPF celebrates its 80th anniversary

The 26th Central Reserve Police Force celebrated its 80th anniversary day with much fervour and enthusiasm at its group centre here on Tuesday. CRPF Commandant, Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Bokaro received salutes on the occasion and congratulated the officials and jawans on the occasion. 

Singh paid rich tributes to martyrs of the CRPF on the occasion and said that CRPF is world’s largest paramilitary force, which is not only alert for internal security of the country but also committed to social responsibilities and humanity.

“Our jawans are discharging their duties appropriately with bravery and courage whether it’s an attack on the parliament, Akshardham Temple or anywhere. The jawans have neutralised the enemy everywhere.

They have not stepped aside in giving supreme sacrifice for mother India. Over 2000 CRPF personnel have sacrificed their lives discharging their duties. The CRPF personnel have received more than 1200 bravery medals including George Cross Ashok Chakra, Shaurya Chakra, Kirti Chakra etc,” he said.

Singh said that on the eve of the 80th anniversary day 26th CRPF institutions across the district have planted trees, which is a unique initiative for preserving the environment. On the occasion several  officers and jawans were felicitated on the occasion in a programme organised at the Chas in Bokaro. The Cammandant  paid tributes to the martyrs and also discussed their family members.   

A feast was organised at 26th battalion CRPF in Chas attended by senior officers and Jawans.
