The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old criminal wanted in rape and snatching case from Bindapur area in Delhi. The drug addict was absconding from last four years and was declared proclaimed offender by local court. The accused has been identified as Prince, a resident of Chankya Palace-I, Bindapur, Delhi.
According to Rajiv Ranjan, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, the accused in 2016 had lured a minor girl in his room at Uttam Nagar on pretext of her sister-in-law being unwell and raped her. “A case was registered at police station Ranhola but the accused was absconding,” said the DCP.
“One more case of snatching was registered against him in 2014 in which the accused along with his associates snatched a purse containing a Sony mobile phone, three debit cards, two credit cards, one silver jewelry and cash around Rs 4000 from a woman in the area Bindapur. A case was registered at police station Bindapur,” said the DCP.
“Specific inputs were received regarding the accused coming to meet someone near Talab Park in Bindapur following which a trap was laid and accused was apprehended,” said the DCP.
