The Delhi Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three criminals, who were allegedly involved in a murder of a gangster, near Delhi’s Saket court last week.
The accused have been identified as Badal (27) a resident of Khanpur, Satender (26), a resident of Govindpuri, Delhi and Asfak Ahmed (24) a resident of Subhash Camp in Delhi’s Dakshinpuri area.
According to Dr G Ram Gopal Naik, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Crime Branch, on May 6, Prince alias Bihari who had come to attend a court hearing was shot multiple times by assailants near Saket Court.
“The victim was taken to Max Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Accordingly, an First Information Report (FIR) under section 302/120B/34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25 Arms Act was registered at Saket police station and investigatoion was taken up,” said the DCP.
“During investigation, specific inputs were received that Badal who was involved in the murder of Prince would be coming in the area of Khanpur following which a trap was laid and the accused was apprehended. On his instance Satender and Asfak were also arrested,” said the DCP.
“During interrogation, the accused revealed that there is rivalry between Rohit Choudhary who is a resident of Delhi’s Aya Nagar and Prince. Recently, the victim Prince had abused and threatened Rohit Choudhary publicly following which Rohit was planning to eliminate Prince. They had two times attempted to kill Prince but he had escaped from their clutches,” said the DCP.
“A new plan was made by accused to kill Prince and on May 6, when the victim Prince had come to Saket Court, he was closely monitored and followed by Badal, Asfak Ahmad and Satender. All the information related to his movement was passed on to their associates, who were waiting outside the court. Acting on these inputs, their associates intercepted the victim Prince near Saket Court and fired upon indiscriminately resulting into his death,” said the DCP.
“Man hunt has been initiated to nab the remaining accused. Further investigation is going on,” the DCP added.
