A three-day Marathi film festival will be organised in city from Saturday. The film festival 'Rajat Rang' is being organised by Marathi Sahitya Academy.
The three day film festival will begin with the film 'Dr. Prakash Baba Amte'. The film is based on Dr Prakash Baba Amte, a social worker and doctor, selflessly dedicates his life to the upliftment and well-being of tribal people who live in the forests of western Maharashtra.
Nana Patekar and Sonali Kulkarni are seen in the lead roles. The film will be screened on Saturday.
On the second day of the festival, Marathi film 'Ringan' will be screened. Ringan is a 2015 Marathi Drama, directed by Makrand Mane. Shashank Shende and Sahil Joshi play the lead roles of father Arjun and son Abhimanyu. A debt-ridden farmer and his seven-year-old son undertake a pilgrimage to Pandharpur. Along the way, they face a series of challenges that test their faith and relationship.
On the last day of the festival, Marathi film 'Ani... Dr Kashinath Ghanekar' will be screened. Directed by Abhijeet Deshpande the film is about Dr Kashinath Ghanekar, a dental surgeon, decides to pursue acting. Despite facing various personal and professional challenges, he goes on to become a bonafide superstar in Marathi theatre and cinema.
It is to be noted that the Marathi film festival is organised every year by Marathi Sahitya Academy, Bhopal. In previous years it has recieved good response and this year too it has possibility to recieve good response from the audience.===========
