According to Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, on

Sunday Deepak and Neeraj, residents of Jai Vihar in Najafgarh were shot dead by unknown assailants and their bodies were found lying along Nangloi-Najafgarh road on Sunday around 10 pm.

“During initial investigation it was revealed that one person identified as Sachin Thapa had somehow managed to escape during the incident. Police was searching for the third victim and specific inputs were received that the three assailants, involved in this brutal act are wandering in Dwarka area in order to eliminate the eye-witnesses and deceased’s friends and would come to Kakrola area of Dwarka riding upon a black colour bike following which a trap was laid and all three accused were apprehended,” said the DCP.

“During interrogation the accused revealed that they murdered two boys namely Neeraj and Deepak on Nangloi-Najafgarh road, in the area of Ranhola, when they were strolling with one Sachin Thapa. Deepak Tiwari was pillion rider, who fired 6-7 bullets from his pistol at deceased persons. After killing the deceased persons, they chased Sachin Thapa to eliminate him, as he was assailant’s prime target, but Thapa managed to escape,” said the DCP.

“They had planned to kill Thapa after Deepak was beaten by them in Jai Vihar few days ago. A complaint regarding the scuffle was filed in Ranhola police station against one of the accused Deepak Tiwari.

They also said that Deepak was creating pressure on Thapa to take complaint back through local boys. So to teach Thapa a lesson he along with his brother Suraj and Shreekant planned to kill Thapa,” said the DCP.
