Police rescued 32 bonded labourers including 21 minor boys from a bus at Majhiguda Chhak in the district late on Sunday night. Two middlemen were also arrested in this connection.
Sources said under the direction of Nabarangpur district Superintendent of Police Nitin Kusalkar, a police team conducted a raid at Majhiguda here and intercepted a bus on its way to Visakhapatnam from Umarkote.
The cops found 32 labourers, including 21 minor boys and nine women all hailing from Kandagaon area of Chhattisgarh and took them to custody for questioning.
Police said the labourers were being trafficked to Tamil Nadu. They would be handed over to their family members. Besides, the accused middlemen would be forwarded to court, said police.
