A total of 337 candidates have filed their nomination papers in the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttar Pradesh going to polls in the fifth phase of election on May 6.
On the last day of filing of nominations on Thursday, 158 candidates filed their papers, Election Commission officials said.
The scrutiny of the papers will be done on Saturday and April 22 is the last date for withdrawing nominations.
The highest number of 51 candidates have filed their nominations from Lucknow followed by 36 in Amethi, 34 in Rae Bareli, 31 in Faizabad, 25 in Mohanlalganj, 24 in Banda 22 each in Dhaurahra and Kaushambi, 20 in Sitapur, 17 each in Fatehpur and Barabanki, 16 in Gonda, 12 in Kaiserganj and the lowest 10 in Bahraich.
Meanwhile, 28 candidates filed their nominations for the sixth phase on Thursday, taking the total to 30. April 23 is the last date for filing nominations for sixth phase polls.
