4 held for transporting, selling liquor illegally

Kamla Nagar police have nabbed four miscreants involved in illegally transporting and selling liquor near Bhadbhada area late in the night on Thursday.  Police have intercepted a jeep carrying over 270 litres of liquor worth Rs 1.5 lakh and nabbed four miscreants.

According to the police the miscreants were nabbed and recovered country made liquor from their possession and when the four were questioned regarding the liquor they were not able to provide documents related to the liquor.

The miscreants were identified as Ayush Sharma, Bablu Singh, Mahendra Dixit and Sagar Sharma. Police said that the nabbed accused confessed that used to sell the liquor but the sources of procuring liquor are yet to be found would be investigated in the further investigation.

The buyers of the liquor provided by the accused would be investigated in the further investigation. The police have registered a case under section 34 of the Excise Act. The crime record of the accused and their involvement in illegal transport of liquor would be investigated. The nexus behind the illegal liquor trade would be unearthed in the further investigation.

Meanwhile, two wanted criminals having a cash reward of Rs 10000 each were nabbed by TT Nagar police and recovered country made pistol and sharp edged weapon from their possession on Thursday; nabbed accused have been booked for over a dozen crimes.

According to the police, acting on a tip-off, two absconding accused were detained by TT Nagar police. The nabbed accused were identified as Golu Rathore(24) of Sudama Nagar and Umesh Bamnere (26) of Kotra Sultanabad.
