Four children were rescued by the police from a man posing as an ascetic dressed in ochre near Bahadurpur village under the jurisdiction of Laksar.
It is alleged that the man was involved in abducting children and then making them beg for alms.
On Friday morning the police nabbed a man posing as an ascetic from near the railway line of Bahadurpur village after the villagers found his activities as suspicious.
He failed to provide a satisfactory answer when questioned about the four children aged eight to 12 years.
Speaking to the Pioneer, Laksar police station in-charge Virendra Singh Negi said, “One of the children recovered is from Bihar while the other three are from Chandigarh. The interrogation is continuing.”
