In yet another incident of sexual abuse of minors, a four-year-old girl was raped by a youth in the Singla police station area of the district on August 17.
The incident came to light after the grandfather of the victim lodged a complaint with the Singla police on Monday.
In the complaint it is alleged that a youth of the same village lured the girl to his house on the fateful day and raped her. After the girl narrated her ordeal to her family members, the latter brought the matter to the notice of the village committee. As the committee did not take any action, the family approached the police seeking justice. The police registered a case in the connection, began investigation and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding accused. Besides, the girl was sent to hospital for medical examination, sources said.
