40-year-old man murdered over land dispute

Body of a 40-year-old man was recovered from Pardih near Mango under Kapali police station out-post in Chandil area late Saturday night.

The body had marks of injury in the head was later identified as that Ranjan Kumar Singh, a resident of Block No 4 at Shastrinagar in Kadma.

Ranjan who used to work at an auto-rickshaw stand at Bistupur was missing since Friday night. His wife Rani Devi had filed a missing report with the Kadma police station on Saturday.

According to Rani Devi her husband had dispute with Mohit Singh and Rohit Singh (both brothers) and they should be made responsible as Ranjan had enmity with the duo over land dispute.

The police said that Ranjan was murdered somewhere else and his body was dumped at Pardih behind Pardih Kalitemple, about 10 kms away from his house at Kadma.

Deputy superintendent of police (headquarters-II) Arvind Kumar confirmed it to be a case of murder. " As per our understanding it is a case of murder committed in sequel to a land dispute. 

From the early investigation we found that four persons, Mohit Singh (35), Rohit Singh (32), Mohan Thakur (33) and Gabbar (28) to have committed the murder. 

We have taken some of the accused under custody and getting their names verified," said Kumar.

 The DSP said that Mohit and Rohit are still absconding and that they have picked up the parents of the accused for further probe.
