A 44-year-old doctor allegedly committed suicide after jumping from the 8th floor of GTB hospital campus on Saturday night. The doctor was identified as, Pallav (44) a native of Assam and presently residing at GTB Hospital campus, police said.
According to a senior police official, on Saturday, Dr Pallav was admitted in causality ward with serious injuries caused after falling from height. Doctors declared him unfit for statement.
During investigation, it was learnt that he reportedly jumped from the balcony of 8th floor and sustained grave injuries. Later on during treatment he succumbed.
His wife works in GTB hospital and he was living in hospital accommodation and also practised at a private hospital in Noida, said the police adding that his family has been informed and body has been preserved in mortuary as postmortem will be conducted after members arrive. A probe under section 174 of CrPc has been initiated and further investigation is underway, police said.
