In a fatal accident reported from Delhi’s Vasant Kunj south area, a 53-year-old man lost his life after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a Chevrolet Cruze car on Thursday. The accused driver, a 30-year-old woman has been arrested, police said.
According to police, information was received regarding the accident at around 1:03 pm. On reaching the spot, police found a motorcycle and the car badly wrecked due to the impact. The bonnet of the car was extremely damaged.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Devender Arya stated that the motorcycle rider identified as Narinder Kumar (53) was found in a pool of blood. He was taken to a nearby hospital in a CATS ambulance but was declared brought dead on arrival. The body was then sent for post-mortem.
“The driver of the car, identified as Neha (30), a house wife also sustained injuries in her hand. She was arrested on the spot. A case was registered at Vasant Kunj South police station and legal action is being undertaken,” said the DCP.
The deceased Narinder Kumar was a resident of Uttam Nagar with his family and was working with an export company, DCP said.
“We are further investigating the matter to determine the sequence of events,” said the DCP, adding that both the vehicles were removed from the main road as there was a huge jam.
