Saturday, 09 November 2019 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

The fifth day of the Tagore International Literature and Art Festival Vishwa Rang was about varient events.

The event began here on Friday with a lecture on the topic 'Tagore, Faiz and Iqbal' at Minto Hall. In this, the speakers explained the contribution of these personalities in giving the right direction to Indian literature.

In this session, while discussing other topics, 'World Literature in the 21st Century', the speakers introduced to the earlier concepts of world literature and made everyone aware of the changes in the present.

During the lecture on Tagore, Faiz and Iqbal, eminent Indian litterateur Indranath Chaudhary  explaining further, he said that only the poet remains who catches the heartbeat. Recalling Tagore's legacy, he says that Tagore believed that love is the greatest heaven. Faiz's poetry is still like the illuminating bonfire that asks questions to all of us even today.

Senior creator Mridula Garg, who takes the female voice of freedom of expression to the dimensions of the world, considers Iqbal and Tagore the same because the two religions did not consider the separation of religion. With this, Sufi Iqbal did not consider any difference between India and Pakistan.

Dhananjaya Varma, the present-day seeker critic, said that Tagore believed that our shelter is humanity and we have to present the symbol of the concept of freedom, free from the terror of the past. Tagore did not believe in the clash of civilisations.

Talking about Faiz, he said that he was not a comer, a time poet. Our cultural heritage underlines Vasudhev Kutumbakam, but nowadays the so-called people have considered their family as Vasudev. The session was moderated by Vinay Upadhyay, director of Tagore World Arts and Culture Center.

Then, 21st-century literature was discussed in the second session on Friday. The session was coordinated by writer, thinker Yadavindra, headed by painter, writer Prabhu Joshi and conducted by Sangeeta Pathak.
