Police arrested seven youths on the charges of producing forged documents while appearing at a recruitment drive of Indian Army here on Monday. All the accused are residents of Uttar Pradesh.
The arrested were Aagman Singh (19) and Sugrim Kumar (19) of Gazhipur district, and Akhilesh Tiwari (22), Rahul Kumar Yadav, Shiva Shankar Yadav, Gudu Singh and Azad Kumar Tiwari of Balia district of UP.
The Army recruitment drive was underway at the Gopabandhu Stadium here, in which candidates from all over Odisha took part. As part of the requirement process, candidates were asked to furnish identity proof and certificates of educational qualifications. In the meantime, the officials caught the seven candidates, who had produced forged documents with fake address proof of Nayagarh district.
The officials handed the accused over to the Paradip Model police. The cops detained the accused for interrogation and launched a probe into the matter.
