Students of as many as eight universities on Sunday participated with fervour in several competitions on the second day of the maiden four-day Jharkhand Inter-University Youth Festival-2019 held at Birsa Agricultural University (BAU).
The students participated in ten events including singing, solo dance completion, debate, spot painting and speech. The spot painting competition and debate and speech competitions were organised at Agriculture Engineering College of BAU in supervision of Z Haider and BK Jha. In this competition students of five universities participated.
In an another event, solo western singing competition, solo singing competition and classical solo dance competition were organised at Auditorium of Agricultural Department under supervision of MP Sinha and Sushil Prasad. The students from five different universities participated in these events. During the patriotic solo singing competition the audience shouted slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. The classical solo dance competition which included Kathakkali, Bharatnatyam, Odyssey, Manipuri, Kuchipuri and others. Vice Chancellor, Binod Bihari Mahto, Koylanchal University, AK Srivastava attended the fest on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Student Welfare Director, MS Yadav said that the outstanding talent in the State can be seen in the excellent performances of the students from various universities.
The Judge Committee of each competition is not from the participating universities and the declaration of winners and prize distribution together will be done during the closing ceremony.
About 300 students from Ranchi University, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag, Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University, Dhanbad, Kolhan University, Chaibasa, Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, Nilamber-Pitamber University, Medininagar, BAU and National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi are participating in 19 events of music, dance, literature, theatre and fine arts groups during the 4-day festival.
