8-year-old rape victim found murdered

Heart rending incident shocked the State capital in the early morning hours after a 8-year-old girl was found brutally murdered after been sexually assaulted at Nehru Nagar slums Mandwa basti near IIFM under Kamla Nagar police station area; minor was killed late in the night.

Panic prevailed in the area after the body of minor girl was found dead at around 5 in the morning near a nullah in Nehru Nagar after she went missing late in the evening.

The locals gathered at the police station protesting the negligence. Heavy police force was also deployed after the incident. In the investigation police found injury marks and found her hands and legs tied. She faced sexual assault.

A cash reward of Rs 20000 has been declared for providing whereabouts of the accused apart from suspension of 7 policemen who showed negligence in filing the complaint and even refused to lodge complaint. The complaint was only lodged after the intervention of a local corporator.

In the initial investigation it was found that victim was held by the accused when she had gone out to buy goods near her house on Saturday at around 8 pm and then raped the girl tying her hands and legs and later she was strangulated to death dumped body near her house.

After the preliminary investigation body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 302 of the IPC was registered. The neighbor of the deceased in involved in the murder and rape and is absconding.
