National Capital’s Zonal Unit of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Thursday disposed of 9,650 kilograms (kg) of ‘Acetic Anhydride’ and other chemicals in Delhi.

According to a senior NCB official, the officials of the department had busted an international syndicate in the year 2018 involved in trafficking of precursor chemical Acetic Anhydride.

“The drive led to the seizure of 9,650 kgs of Acetic Anhydride and few other chemicals, wherein four persons including two foreigners were also arrested by the officials,” said the senior NCB official.  “In an approach to avoid any sort of health hazard, due legal procedures were initiated to dispose off the toxic chemicals by Delhi Zonal Unit. After contemplating all the codal formalities, the seized chemicals were finally disposed of by incineration,” said the senior NCB official.
