A new era is ushering in India: Raman Singh

Saturday, 25 May 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

BJP national vice president and state’s former chief minister Raman Singh on Friday claimed that a new era is ushering in the country as the BJP has scripted a new history, alternative to that of the grand-old Congress, by forming a majority government of its own for the second time.

Addressing a press conference here at the party’s state headquarters Ekatma Parisar, Raman said people of the country had reposed faith on promises made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and rooted for him in the elections. He also thanked the people of Chhattisgarh for overwhelmingly supporting BJP and Modi.

Raman further hit out at Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, saying people of Chhattisgarh have rejected the five-month- old Congress government as it has lost ground in 66 of the 68 seats, which they had won     during the assembly polls     conducted five months ago.

The people of Chhattisgarh rejected the rule of anarchy as well as the politics of vendetta of the Congress government.

Chief Minister Baghel who was behaving like a political leader of national stature too had bitten the dust as wherever he campaigned including Amethi, Lucknow and Bhopal, Congress lost the elections.

Even the people of his own constituency had rejected him and he should now look at himself in the same mirror which he had sent to the prime minister, Raman added. Criticising Baghel for his tweet and comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Raman further said it’s time now for us to ask question to Baghel whether he will demand resignation from his party president for the humiliating poll debacle.
