AAP Govt trying to mislead people with lies, falsehood: Maken

Saturday, 21 September 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Former Union Minister and president of the Delhi Congress Ajay Maken 'slammed' the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led-Delhi Government for "ruining" the health sector in the national Capital.

"The AAP Government is trying to mislead people through lies and falsehood. The AAP Government has done an injustice with poor people by introducing contract in Government hospitals in Delhi while it had promised to end the system before coming in to the power," he said.

Addressing a dharna organised by a section of Congress leaders at Pooth Khurd, Maken alleged that Rs 40,000 were being taken as bribe to give jobs in Government hospitals in Delhi under the AAP rule. He also alleged that even the contract employment is being given to the mothers, sisters and daughters of the contractors in hospitals.

"It is very unfortunate that the AAP Government has not been spending any money to improve the health sector in Delhi as the poor people mostly depend on Government hospitals for treatment," he said, adding that the time has come for the Congress to play a role of a strong Opposition by exposing the misdeeds of the Kejriwal Government in Delhi.

Maken said that people are now fondly recalling the 15-year rule of the Sheila Dikshit Government in Delhi and the 10-year rule of the Congress Government headed by Dr Manmohan Singh at the Centre. He also appealed to the Congress workers to make door-to-door visits to make people aware of the real facts and expose the "betrayal" of the Modi and Kejriwal Governments on the people.  Former MLA and Kirari District Congress president Surender Kumar, AICC member Chattar Singh also participated in the dharna.
