Accusing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of making misleading calls to several voters in Delhi about the deletion of their names from the electoral roll, a delegation of Delhi Congress on Monday called on Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi Dr Ranbir Singh and lodged protest against AAP Government in Delhi for misleading the voters.
The Congress delegation demanded that the Delhi Election Commission should immediately take strict action against those spreading such misleading information. Meanwhile, Delhi Congress president Sheila Dikshit criticised the AAP Government for making “false promises” to the people of Delhi to influence the voters with an eye on the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
“The Government has done nothing except making noise by claiming that it was providing subsidy to the power consumers up to 400 units, which is a big lie as this system was already in place,” she said.
Sheila demanded that the AAP Government should fulfil its promise of giving power to the consumers at half of the rate without any dilution and withdraw the hike in the fixed charges and security amount which has been intentionally done to squeeze the power consumers.
