The State Health Agency (SHA), entrusted with the implementation of the ambitious Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY), has claimed that it has prepared golden cards of 10,23,298 beneficiaries till Tuesday. The process of registration of the beneficiary families is in progress at about 300 common service centres in the State. After registration, the cards are validated by SHA. The chairman SHA, DK Kotia reviewed the progress of the scheme at the health directorate on Tuesday and expressed satisfaction over the pace of things.

He said process of making golden cards is going fastest in Dehradun district where a total of 3.37 lakh cards so far have been made. Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar are on the second and the third position in this respect. In the mountainous districts, a total of 59,352 cards so far have been made in Pauri while 35,362 cards, in Tehri district.

During the review of the scheme, Kotia was told that there is no backlog in making the golden cards as they are being made immediately after a registration at common service centre is done.

The officials claimed that over the past three days, over 1 lakh cards have been made.

Kotia added the SHA has a capacity to make 1.10 lakh cards in a day and soon it would be further increased.

The officials said 2,536 beneficiaries of the scheme have so far availed the scheme and 78 patients have got treatment outside the State. A total of Rs 2.50 crore has so far been spent on treatment of these patients.

The SHA officials claim that settlements of all the claims of the hospitals are being done within 15 days of the claim receipt.

The chairman SHA said task of making 10 lakh cards has been accomplished in less than a month after the scheme was rolled out by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on December 25, 2018.
