nThe winter session of the Chhattisgarh State assembly came to end on Monday with Speaker Charandas Mahant adjourning the house sine die.
The budget session is expected to commence from fourth week of February 2020.
Speaker making the concluding remark said winter session was supposed to continue from November 25 to December 6 but as the civic body election has been announced, the session was curtail.
During this session the discussion was held on the Constitution Day on November 26 while on November 28, the session was held in ‘Chhattisgarhi’ to mark the state’s Official Language Day.
He said in total six sittings and around 30 hours of discussions were held while 40 questions were raised in House out of total 1472 starred and unstarred questions raised by members.
Total 260 call attention motions were received out of which 74 were accepted and 61 converted for zero hour discussion. Total 63 adjournment motions were received out of which 16 motions on same issue were taken up for discussion.
The session received 8 bills which was passed which includes the supplementary budget. He also mentioned the unanimous election of Deputy Speaker Manoj Mandavi.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel thanked the members and opposition for fruitful discussion in the House and passing of the bills.
Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik also thanked Speaker for considering their pleas for holding discussions on different issues.
JCC (J) leader Dharamjeet Singh thanked Chief Minister for announcing funds for the Bilaspur Airport and accepting demands of members. BSP leader Keshav Chandra also spoke on the occasion.
