Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) from Dhanbad arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) namely Satendra Sharma posted at Gawa police station of Giridih city on Wednesday evening for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a woman identified as Kiran Kumari. Sources said that the ASI Satendra Sharma had demanded a bribe of Rs 2,000 for supporting and cooperating in a case lodged in same Police Station of Giridih city, sources added.
The complainant expressed her inability to pay Rs 2,000 saying she had no money, following which the police official disagreed to bring the injuries reports from RIMS,Ranchi.
Once ASI Satendra Sharma called her with the bribe amount on Wednesday evening, sources said. The accused police official would be produced before the ACB court in Dhanbad on Thursday.
