Action was taken against two quacks practicing in rural areas of Dhamtari district on Wednesday by a joint team of Food and Drug Administration and district health and family welfare department.
Allopathic medicines worth Rs 1.80 lakh were seized from them.
Deputy Director, Food and Drug Administration informed that Lalit Kumar Nishad was running a clinic at village Jeejamgaon (Gandhi Chowk) under Kurud block. The joint team seized all the medicines kept by him.
Similarly in ward-6 of Sub Teshil Kukrel of Nagari block, near a bus stand, Sanjay Tiwari was running a clinic.
The estimated cost of total medicines seized from both quacks is Rs 1.80 lakh.
The medicines have been handed over to Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dhamtari and Kurud.
Notice has been issued to both and they were asked to submit all the necessary documents for further investigation.
