Adequate force deployment for Eid festival in Doon

The police claim to have completed security arrangements for ensuring peaceful celebration of Eid-Ul-Zuha on Monday. The Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said that force has been deployed according to the requirement of police station and posts. Director General (law and Order) Ashok Kumar said, “We have ensured security arrangements for the celebration of Id with peace and proper law & order in the state. Meetings with the representatives of respected communities have been held and all the SPs and SSPs have been issued required instructions. Traditional norms will be followed.”

Dehradun SSP Joshi said, “Local police stations in-charge have been issued instructions accordingly. They have been informed about Eidgah and places where citizens will be performing Namaaz.”

When asked about the illegal slaughter of animals in the open he said, “If any such information is received actions will be taken according to the law. Our priority is to maintain law and order.”

Superintendent of Police (city) Shweta Choubey said, “Adequate force has been deployed. In fact for the morning Namaaz as well separate force has been deployed. As for the Qurbani, the use of only traditional places will be allowed. There are eight to 10 such places in the district including at Gandhigram, Inamullah building and Kandoli.”
