In a shocking incident, a 38-year-old software engineer from Adityapur killed his wife and three children at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. The software engineer, Sumeet Singh, stabbed his wife and three children - two sons and a daughter -- at his house at Indrapuram police station area of Ghaziabad before fleeing the spot for committing suicide on Sunday night.

Those killed was 53-year-old Anshubala (wife of Sumeet), seven-year-old son, Prathamesh, Arav and Akriti, four-year-old twins (a son and a daughter).

“It is really shocking I could not believe as I came to know that Sumeet has killed his wife and children  as he was facing  financial crisis.   It's a tragic incident,” said a  neighbour of Adityapur Colony.

According to information the accused was working in Noida and Ghaziabad from past eight years.  After his parents’ death in the last three years, Sumeet locked his house at Adityapur.

Senior superintendent of police, Ghaziabad, Upendra Kumar Agrawal is investigating the incident. Sources revealed that Sumeet would work as a software engineer in Bangalore and his family was staying at a rented house in Ghaziabad. Three months ago, Sumeet lost his job suddenly and his wife started working at a playschool in Ghaziabad.

“We are investigating the incident. The accused, Sumeet Singh has fled his house after stabbing his wife and three children at his residence in Indrapuram police station area last night.  We are trying to detect the killer,” said a police official.
