After May 23 Cong will be wiped out from country: Hry CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Thursday said that the Congress, whose some of the senior leaders are on bail, will be completely wiped out on May 23 when the results of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections will be declared.

The Chief Minister, while addressing an election rally here, said that today, the BJP is ruling and the people have shown the Congress and other opposition parties their true place.

Elated at the turnout at party’s rallies in all the districts, Manohar Lal said that various former Prime Ministers, including three generations of Gandhi family -Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi - besides Manmohan Singh gave hollow promises to remove poverty by repeatedly giving the slogan Garibi Hatao.

Notwithstanding the failure of senior leaders of the Congress to remove poverty on the basis of their repeated hollow promises of Garibi Hatao, now “Pappu” (Congress chief Rahul Gandhi) is claiming to remove poverty by once again giving the slogan of Garibi Hatao, he said.

The poverty cannot be removed by mere slogans, Manohar Lal said adding that for uplifting the standard of the people, work has to be done as had been done by the BJP during its five years rule with the launching of various welfare schemes for different sections of the society, including poor and downtrodden, women, sick, youth, farmers and the unemployed youth.

The Chief Minister said that there is no other party which could give a formidable challenge to the BJP in the current Lok Sabha elections.

Manohar Lal said that the Congress is facing the punishment due to its misdeeds. After May 23 (day of counting), the Congress will be wiped out from the country, he said.

Continuing his tirade against the Congress, he said that the Congress leaders are afraid of facing the public due to their alleged misdeeds. Many senior leaders of Congress are out on bail, he said adding that internal bickering in the Congress is also out in the open.

He further charged the opposition Congress leaders of filling their houses and that of their relatives with wealth accumulated through corrupt practices in various areas as has been exposed by various scams.

In the latest series of such scams during the raid at the close associates of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister wealth worth Rs 281 crore was recovered. The Congress leaders should be ashamed of their corrupt practices, he added.

Manohar Lal said that the country has emerged as the fifth super power of the world due to the leadership provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the strength of the people behind him. Senior leaders of the world proudly shake hands today with the Prime Minister, he added.

He said that earlier during visit to Police Stations people found middlemen, but the BJP on coming to power in Haryana put all bad elements behind bars.

As far as development of the state is considered, the BJP government did not discriminate between constituencies represented by the ruling party MLAs and those represented by the opposition legislators. Due to this many opposition leaders are joining the BJP, he added.

Referring to Mewat, which till recently was considered the most backward area of the state; the Chief Minister said that despite the BJP not having any representation from there, the government accelerated the pace of development due to which Mewat area is among the developed areas.

Referring to the shortage of water, especially in southern areas of the state, he said that the previous government took no action on this aspect also. But now the BJP government is committed to redress the problem of water shortage in the shortest possible time, Manohar Lal added.
