Air India would soon start air service from Dehradun to Mumbai and Dehradun-Varanasi-Kolkata. The chairman and managing director of Air India, Ashwani Lohani said this while meeting chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at his residence here on Sunday evening. Lohani also discussed aspects related to expansion of air services and development tourism in the state.
Rawat said that Air India should also start air service to Pithoragarh, adding that air services are very important for development of Pithoragarh from the tourism point of view. He said that the State Government is also attempting to build an air strip at Chaukhutia. An airport at Chukhutia will also be important from the strategic point of view. The CM further said that more facilities would be provided for air services at the air strips in Gauchar, Chinyalisaud and Nainisaini.
